Samuel’s Intangibles: Georgia Southern Edition

Each week columnist Sam Lasseter shares from his unique perspective and predicts the outcome for Saturday’s game.

As we look to the 2017 Auburn football season I am reminded to always expect the unexpected when it comes to Auburn football. I have seen many highs and many lows in my 41 years of being a fan of Auburn University Football. I wouldn’t trade any of those memories for anything.

A lot of those memories were made with my parents, who loved Auburn. They earned their degrees at Jacksonville State and Athens State, but nonetheless made sure I loved Auburn.

My mother has been gone since 2005, and dad since 2010. I would love to see one more game with them, but I know that’s not possible. I do, however, have many great memories over the years with them that I will always cherish.

Let me be clear—I will never concede an Auburn loss before it occurs. With that being said I predict an undefeated season for the Auburn University Football team.

I have always been one to predict an undefeated season for the Auburn Football team. I have been right three times since 1993, and right more than fans of any other team who make similar predictions; because Auburn has more undefeated seasons than any other college program since that time.

As for game 1 vs Georgia Southern:

I believe that Auburn will do quite well against the triple option of Georgia Southern, and will come away with a solid win in Jarrett Stidham’s first start as Auburn’s QB.

Auburn 45 — Georgia Southern 13
